Yemeni Neuroscience Society organizing the following :

Wednesday, 27 October
On Yemen Space TV. there will be a live program with two neurologist during which they are going to talk about the stroke as a global epidemics that threatens lives, health and quality of life and importance of raising the public awareness to face this catastrophe.

Thursday, 28 October
Workshop of stroke in Al-Thawra hospital, Sana’a city (CME 4 hours) aimed to buildup and update the knowledge specially among GPs.

Friday, 29 October - World Stroke Day
Public events under the patronage of the Honorable Prime Minister Dr. Ali Mohammed Mojawar, in Al-Sabeen Park (Main Park in Sana’a city) through this the following activities will take place:

- lecture in Arabic presented by neurologists explaining in simple terms the most important facts regarding stroke (how can recognize a stroke (symptoms and signs), risk factors and preventive measures.)

- tables distributed in special stations along the park where blood pressure , blood sugar measurements will take place for public, each person will have a card with result and will receive advice by well trained doctor according to result (diet, weight, cessation of smoking).

- brochure in Arabic distributed to participants giving information with clarifying pictures about stroke, symptoms, signs, risk factor, preventive measures and advices what should be done if he/ she get a stroke.

- movie for public awareness (translated to Arabic) will be showed all the day in different stations.

- Questioners (simple survey) filled by the participants to evaluate their knowledge, hats with logo of WSO will be distributed to attendance.

For other main governorates in Yemen (Aden, Taiz, Alhodida) there will be distribution of the brochure in main hospitals, and neurological clinics.
