Korean Stroke Society

To commemorate the World Stroke Day, the Korean Stroke Society will have activities to enhance public awareness of stroke.

1. Stroke Warning Signs and Act on Stroke Awareness Campaign

In order to promote the public awareness of stroke warning sign and act on stroke, the Korean Stroke Society will run an advertising animation which delivers the message of F.A.S.T in various spots of subway stations and trains in Seoul and Busan, the 1st and 2nd biggest cities in Korea. In addition, we will exhibit the advertising animation on an electronic billboard in two buildings located in the most crowded business areas in Seoul.

2. Nationwide public educational program

Since 1999, the Korean Stroke Society has conducted a public educational program, in which about 50-60 centers nationwide have participated every year. In 2015, the stroke education program focusing on risk factor control, warning signs, and act on stroke will be held in 79 medical centers nationwide around the World Stroke Day.

3. One-day Stroke Class for Social Workers

The Korean Stroke Society will conduct one-day stroke class for geriatric social workers in order to help them understand stroke, warning sign, and act on stroke so that they can properly ducate and assist the elderly people at particularly high risk of stroke.
