University Hospital

The ceremony that marks the opening of the first Neurovascular Care Unit will take place at the Dr. Jose E. Gonzalez University Hospital in Monterrey, Mexico. The unit has a capacity of six beds with telemetry cardiovascular monitoring, neurosonology studies, specialized nursing care and rehabilitation. We will have the participation of University Hospital Administrators; Neurology, Neurosurgery and Neuro-endovascular Service Faculty; and, representatives of the Mexican Association of Cerebrovascular Disease (AMEVASC).

The first course on pre-hospital care of stroke patients oriented towards paramedics and nurses along with the Regional Symposium on Stoke, with the participation of distinguished national vascular neurologists, will also take place on World Stroke Day. We will also integrate the Support Group for families and stroke survivors in the Neurology Service. Brochures with information on the warning signs and symptoms of stroke will be made for distribution to the community.
