The Instituto Cardio-Neuro-Vascular CORBIC will:
1. Distribute the WSO brochure translated to spanish among all patients and their families coming to both our clinical centres located inside the Hospital Manuel Uribe Angel and at our Ambulatory Care Clinic.
2. Fix posters in visible areas using the "1 in 6" concept and world figures about stroke.
3. Conferences will be given to:
(a) high-vascular-risk patients previously identified by the local health service of Envigado. The conference will emphasise essential points about stroke such as prevention, prompt identification of stroke signs and acute treatment options for ongoing stroke.
(b) CEOs of the regional Health Promotion Companies (that is, the private and public administrators of health resources). The conference will focus on public health issues of stroke and the urgent need to provide optimal care to stoke patients in order to improve their outcomes. Also, our Comprehensive Stroke Centre will be officially launched on that same day.
4. A regional radio conference will be held.
5. An article will be published in the health section of the local newspaper of Envigado providing information about stroke prevention, recognition of early stroke signs, acute treatment options and long-term prognosis.
