World Stroke Day gives us all a good reason to raise the profile of stroke and an unbeatable opportunity to reach out to the public and politicians to build awareness of stroke issues in our community. Print and broadcast media provide a great vehicle to help reach large numbers of people and articles in the press can also help to generate political attention for stroke.
Our challenges will be different depending on where we live and our unique stroke experience, but by speaking with one voice on World Stroke Day we can amplify voices from around the world and send a clear message that stroke needs action now - locally and globally.
You can help by engaging your local media to help generate coverage of World Stroke Day and your local activities.
The World Stroke Organization will prepare a statement for World Stroke Day that we will share with our members and partners to support your media outreach.
We will also prepare a template World Stroke Day news release that you will find here and can adapt for local use.
