 World Stroke Campaign in Brasilia 

Launched in 2010, the campaign to put the fight against stroke on the global health agenda continues to gather momentum and support from stroke communities around the world.  WSO members and conference delegates are cordially invited to attend and participate in the following activities taking place during the 8th World Stroke Congress:

 

I. WSO Journalism Academy

Learn first-hand how to avert the silent stroke epidemic in Brazil and in other countries across the Americas. Come and meet some of today’s most sought-after stroke experts and public health professionals involved in the fight against stroke as they reveal the huge economic, social and personal burden of atrial fibrillation-related strokes across Latin America and the steps that must be taken to avert this public health crisis.

II. Media Briefing: Scientific Breakthroughs at the 8th World Stroke Congress

Find out what’s new in the stroke community. Media are cordially invited to interface with WSO scientists, stroke specialists and public health experts.

III. Brazilian Inspirations: Art for Life/ Inspirações do Brasil: Arte para a Vida

Art exhibit showcasing and celebrating paintings, sculptures, water color and video art produced by stroke survivors from Brazil, Chile, India and Israel. Delegates are warmly invited to visit the exhibit located near the conference registration area.

Art colloquium, vernissage and reception will be held on Thursday, 11 October at 18:00

Improving Life After Stroke: A New Approach

What: Presentations from leading stroke experts on the Latin American post-stroke experience; international initiatives to improving life after stroke; the global implementation of the Post Stroke Checklist.
