Stroke - a non-communicable disease that attacks 15 million people worldwide every year and claims a life every six seconds – can be beaten. Currently, stroke accounts for 5.7 million deaths each year. If nothing is done, the predicted number of people who will die from stroke will increase to 6.7 million each year by 2015.
